Perry's Ice Cream Company Adds Products to Voluntary Recall of Select Peanut Butter Ice Cream Products
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Buffalo, N.Y. – January 30, 2009 – Perry’s Ice Cream today announced an update to their January 17, 2009 and January 22, 2009 voluntary recalls of select ice cream products containing peanut butter because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The ice cream products added to the previous list contain Spanish peanuts and granulated peanuts supplied by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). The action was taken immediately after PCA issued an expanded recall of all product manufactured in their Blakely, Georgia facility since Jan 1, 2007. PCA is the subject of an FDA investigation concerning recent Salmonella outbreaks.
