Colorado Firm Recalls Burrito Products For Possible Listeria Contamination

WASHINGTON, Dec. 30, 2008 - Home Fresh Sandwich Distributors, Inc., a Denver, Colo., firm, is recalling approximately 172 pounds of burrito products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

The burrito products were produced on Dec. 23, 2008, and sold at retail convenience stores in Colorado. Consumers may have purchased these burrito products on Dec. 24 and 25, 2008.

The problem was discovered through FSIS routine microbiological testing. FSIS has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of this product.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24, 2008 - Dutch Prime Foods, Inc., a Long Branch, New Jersey firm, is recalling approximately 345 pounds of ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

5-pound and 10-pound vacuum sealed plastic bags of "DUTCH PRIME FOODS HAMBURGER."

These packages of ground beef were packed in 5- and 10-pound shipping cases which bear the establishment number "EST. 5206" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These ground beef products were produced on Nov. 18 and distributed to restaurants in New Jersey.

Frozen Chicken Meals Recalled after 1 Injured
Nestle has recalled over 879,000 pounds of frozen chicken meals after pieces of hard plastic were found in several of the products.

The company received several complaints after finding pieces of hard plastic inside of their frozen chicken meals, according to the USDA. One person was reported injured.
