Rucker's Candy Announces Voluntary Recall for Customer Private Labeled Products Including The Family Choice Labeled Brand

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- BRIDGEPORT, IL---January 31, 2009, Rucker's Candy initiated a voluntary recall of Private Labeled products and the Family Choice Brand labeled products.

Rucker's Candy has taken these steps following announcements from the product's manufacturers that they may possibly be contaminated with Salmonella. While none of the private labels or the Family Choice Brand label have been identified as contaminated or linked to any illnesses, Rucker's Candy has received these products from suppliers which used peanuts from Peanut Corporation of America in Blakely, Georgia, which has been verified as the source of contaminated peanut products.
