Colorado Firm Recalls Burrito Products For Possible Listeria Contamination

WASHINGTON, Dec. 30, 2008 - Home Fresh Sandwich Distributors, Inc., a Denver, Colo., firm, is recalling approximately 172 pounds of burrito products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

The burrito products were produced on Dec. 23, 2008, and sold at retail convenience stores in Colorado. Consumers may have purchased these burrito products on Dec. 24 and 25, 2008.

The problem was discovered through FSIS routine microbiological testing. FSIS has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of this product.

St Louis area Sausage recall Listeria

WASHINGTON, Dec. 25, 2008 - T. Piekutowski European Style Sausage, a St. Louis, Mo., firm, is recalling approximately 750 pounds of sausage products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

The sausage products were produced on Dec. 18, 2008, and sold at the establishment's retail counter in the St. Louis, Mo. Consumers may have purchased these sausage products on Dec. 18 and 19, 2008.

Cocoa products sold at Big lots and Shopko recalled melamine

G&J Hot Cocoa Stuffer Item . This hot cocoa product was sold in small green and blue boxes with a backer card, candy cane and marshmallows.
G&J His and Hers Hot Cocoa Set Item 120129 This cocoa product was sold with 2 ceramic mugs in a brown box.
G&J Cocoa item 120126, sold in 2 flavors: French Vanilla Cocoa and Double Chocolate Cocoa
G&J French Vanilla Cocoa small green bag with a whisk attached.
G&J Double Chocolate Cocoa small pink bag with a whisk attached.

No injuries have been reported and only a few samples have, in fact, been found to include melamine. However, DMI is proceeding with this recall in the interest of public health and the safety of American consumers.

The above recalled products were imported into the United States by DMI and distributed nationwide to retailer Big Lots during the weeks of September 22, 2008 and September 29, 2008 and to retailer Shopko during the week of October 10, 2008.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2008 - Rupari Food Services, a Deerfield Beach, Fl., establishment, is recalling approximately 41,020 pounds of fresh pork products that may be contaminated with dioxins, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

NY Firm recalls Bacon from Irish Pork

8-ounce packages of "Tommy Moloney's Traditional Irish Breakfast Bacon, Made from imported Irish Pork." The label bears the establishment number "EST. 33789" inside the U.S. mark of inspection as well as a "sell by" date between "Dec. 15, 2008" and "Jan. 31, 2009."

Walgreens recall Teddy Bear with Chocolate Bar Melamine

Walgreens Recalls 173 Teddy Bears With Chocolate Bars Sold Since Late September 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- DEERFIELD, Ill., Dec. 5, 2008 – Walgreens is recalling 173 teddy bears with chocolate bars sold in stores since late September 2008. Analysis by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found that certain samples of the chocolate provided with the teddy bears were contaminated with melamine. Customers who purchased any of the 173 teddy bears should return them immediately to the Walgreens stores where they were purchased for a full refund.

DeNunzio's Sausage Soy Allergy Alert


WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, 2008
- DeNunzio's Sausage, an Elmira, New York establishment, is recalling approximately 36,388 pounds of ready-to-eat Polish Kielbasa sausage products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, soy protein, the U. S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. Soy protein is a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The following products are subject to recall:
1-pound, 2-pound, and 4-pound jars of "DeNunzio POLISH KIELBASA, FULLY COOKED, READY TO EAT, PACKED IN VINEGAR."
