undeclared allergen, wheat, Amigo's Mexican Food, Inc.

Amigo's Mexican Food, Inc., a Deming, N.M. establishment, is recalling approximately 4,594 pounds of red pork tamale products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, wheat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. Wheat is a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

35-ounce vacuum packages of "AMIGO'S Home Style PORK Tamales Wrapped in Corn Husk." Each label bears the establishment number "P- 13083" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

This product is being recalled because it contains milk, soy, and wheat that was distributed in packaging that does not reveal the presence of these ingredients. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, soy, or wheat run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
