2 Dozen Head Start Kids Poisoned By Salmonella

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBS) ― County Health Officials tell CBS 2 and KCAL 9 that there have been at least two dozen confirmed cases of salmonella poisoning -- including two hospitalizations -- stemming from the Volunteers of America Central Kitchen in North Hollywood.
Communicable disease doctors have pinpointed the kitchen for the outbreak which has sickened nearly 30 people including teachers and students who eat food prepared from the kitchen.

"Kyosai Sengiri Daikon" dried radish is being recalled due to unlisted sulfites.
JFC International, Inc. of 7101 E. Slauson Ave. Los Angeles, California 90040 is recalling all products of Kyosai Sengiri Daikon (40/3.5 oz) because it contains sulfites without listing so on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Kyosai Sengiri Daikon is sold in a 3.5-ounce, clear plastic package with the following UPC Code 0 11152 42327 2 and was distributed nationwide. It is a product of China.
