FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- April 7, 2009 -- Anton-Argires, Inc. of Alsip, IL is expanding its recall to comply with the Setton Pistachio expansion of their recall to include all in the shell pistachio products packaged under the ARGIRES Brand label. The in the shell pistachios added to our recall list now include all red, natural roasted or salted, chili limon flavored and habanero (jalapeno) flavored pistachios packaged in ARGIRES BRAND packages as listed below.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Alsip, IL -- April 3, 2009 -- Anton-Argires, Inc. of Alsip, IL is recalling its 14oz & 16oz Roasted (No Salt) Deluxe Mixed Nuts, its 14oz & 16oz Salted Deluxe Mixed Nuts, and its 13oz Salted Pistachio Kernels, because the roasted and or salted pistachio kernels contained in them have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

These items were distributed in Illinois through retail stores, direct home delivery and through mail order. This recall is in compliance with the Setton Farms (Terra Bella, CA) recall of its roasted and/or salted pistachio kernels that our company used to make these products.

The products being recalled have an ARGIRES logo on them. They are packaged in clear, recloseable containers (tubs). Pack dates subject to recall are 08270 to 09089 (YYDDD) or 2702008 to 0892009 (DDDYYY). UPC Code Numbers for the products recalled during the pack dates listed above include: 079003736117 (Tub Salted Pistachio Kernels 13oz), 079003743054 (Tub Deluxe Salted Mixed Nuts 14oz), 079003743061 (Tub Deluxe Salted Mixed Nuts 16oz), 079003743311 (Tub Deluxe Roasted Mixed Nuts 14oz), 0790037437078 (Tub Deluxe Salted Mixed Nuts 16oz), 079003302411 (Bag Salted Deluxe Mixed Nuts 16oz).

No illnesses have been reported to date.
