Umpqua Dairy issues Voluntary Recall on its Tin Roof Sundae Ice Cream products Due to Expanded Peanut Recall

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- February 2, 2009 -- Umpqua Dairy Products, Co of Roseburg, OR is announcing a voluntary recall of certain lot codes of its Tin Roof Sundae Ice Cream, Premium Lite Tin Roof Sundae ice cream, and Pints of Tin Roof Sundae Ice Cream, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The ice cream products were manufactured using peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of American and distributed by Pecan Deluxe Candy Company.

The affected products were distributed to retail grocery stores throughout Oregon, Washington and Northern California. Umpqua Dairy is currently in the process of notifying all of the retailers who purchased these flavors and asking them to voluntarily remove the affected products from store shelves.

The following 1.75 qt products with the sell by date codes listed below are subject to this recall. The sell by code is listed on the bottom of each carton.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- February 2, 2009 -- Crown Pacific Fine Foods, Kent, WA is recalling 10 cases of ROASTED HONEY PEANUTS, 20 cases VIRGINIA ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, 20 cases VIRGINIA ROASTED NO SALT PEANUTS, 20 cases ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, 13 cases ROASTED/UNSALTED PEANUTS distributed between June 1, 2008 and January 29, 2009, BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE HEALTH RISK, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The ROASTED HONEY PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED NO SALT PEANUTS, ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, ROASTED/UNSALTED PEANUTS

ROASTED HONEY PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED NO SALT PEANUTS, ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, ROASTED/UNSALTED PEANUTS was distributed to retail stores (Food Pavilions, Cost Cutters, Save on Foods) throughout Washington State.

These products would have been sold in the bulk section of the retail store. The products were sold to retail stores between June 1, 2008 and January 29, 2009, in 20-30 pound bulk boxes. The brand name was Peanut Corporation of America, the flavors were ROASTED HONEY PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, VIRGINIA ROASTED NO SALT PEANUTS, ROASTED/SALTED PEANUTS, ROASTED/UNSALTED PEANUTS. Lot codes are unavailable except for Roasted Unsalted=lot#8129 B16JR Item#100 B16JR, Roasted Salted=lot#8151 B19JR Item#100 B19JR, no expiration date or other codes listed.

Hudsonville Ice Cream Announces a Recall of Candy Bar Whirl Ice Cream Distributed in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

The ice cream under recall is: Hudsonville Creamery and Ice Cream Co. brand Candy Bar Whirl Ice Cream, net wt. 64 oz.; UPC code 7043810250. The recall includes all lot numbers of Candy Bar Whirl ice cream with a code number ending in “08”. This ice cream was distributed to retail stores in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

The recalled ice cream contains peanuts supplied by Peanut Corporation of America, which has just announced the expansion of a voluntary recall covering all peanut products made in their Blakely, Georgia plant since January 1, 2007. Peanut Corporation of America is currently the focus of an ongoing investigation concerning Salmonella outbreaks. Hudsonville Ice Cream has not received any reports of illness connected to this ice cream, to date.

Prairie Farms Dairy Announces Voluntary Nationwide

These ice creams are sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia in retail stores. The peanut-containing ice creams included in this recall are:

Tropical Nut And Fruit Recalls "Granulated Peanuts" Because of Possible Health Risk

The recalled "GRANULATED PEANUTS" was sold in the Tropical Nut and Fruit, Columbus, Ohio Factory Outlet Store.

The product comes in a 16 ounce, clear polyurethane resealable bag, labeled “GRANULATED PEANUTS", Tropical Nut and Fruit, Columbus, Ohio. The lot numbers being recalled are clearly identified on the black and white label, 8148B, 8168B, 8288B and 8289B. There is no UPC assigned to the bags.

Kashi Initiates Nationwide Recall of Select Kashi™ TLC™ Chewy Granola Bar Flavors And Kashi™ TLC™ Chewy Cookie Flavors

Kashi™ TLC™ Chewy Cookies in Oatmeal Dark Chocolate, Happy Trail Mix and Oatmeal Raisin Flax varieties only, 8.5-ounce box with a “Best If Used Before” date prior to July 30, 2009, with the following UPC codes: 1862732467, 1862742593, 1862762001, 1862762002, 1862762003.
These products are also included in some Club assortment and variety packs of Kashi TLC products.
