FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 24, 2009 - As the follow up for June 10th, 2009 press release, expanding the recall by Indian Groceries & Spices, Inc. of Skokie, IL is recalling Nirav Golden Raisins because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The Nirav Golden Raisins were distributed between November, 2008 and July 24, 2009 to retail stores in Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and Tennessee. All products purchased from November, 2008 through July 24, 2009 are affected by this recall. The firm sold less then 6000 lbs. of the raisins.

The raisins were sold in 7 oz. and 14 oz. plastic bags under the Nirav brand. There are no lot numbers on the packages. The 14 oz. bags have UPC 0 24433 01025 2 and the 7 oz bags have UPC 0 24433 01027 6. Also Raisins were packed in 2 lbs,5lbs,10lbs and 20 lbs. There is no upc code on these bags.

Frontera Produce Recalls One Lot of Cilantro Because of Possible Health Risk

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 28th, 2009 - Frontera Produce, of Edinburg, TX, is voluntarily recalling one lot of cilantro because it has the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. The company is working with the FDA to inform consumers of this recall, and no illnesses have been reported to date.

The lot in question, 118122, was distributed to two retail store chains in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisiana, and New Mexico. Both chains were provided with case tag identification and have been advised of the recall. Frontera Produce is issuing this voluntary recall as an additional measure to advise consumers to destroy the cilantro described above, purchased between July 20, 2009 and July 27, 2009. The cilantro bunches in question have a white twist tie with pink lettering spelling the word 'Cilantro' and the UPC number 033383801049.

The recall involves only one lot of cilantro and does not involve any other products.

- July 27, 2009 - Fireside Coffee Co. Swartz Creek, MI is recalling all Fireside Chai Tea that contains dry milk produced by Plainview Milk Products after June 2007. Plainview Milk Products of Plainview, MN has recalled its instant non-fat dry milk because of potential Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.



The Fireside Coffee Co. Chai Tea affected by this recall was distributed nationwide in retail stores, through mail orders and at art fairs. The Chai tea under recall comes in the following four flavors: Spiced, Chocolate, Vanilla and Decaf Vanilla. All four flavors come in a variety of package sizes including a 12oz. box, a 1 lb. sampling bag, 5 lb. bulk packages and single serving packets. Wirth's Nutcracker Initiates Voluntary Recall Of Pistachios Sold In Michigan Because Of Possible Risk To Health

The party trays were distributed for fundraising by Kiwanis Clubs in Michigan (Alma, Bay City, Midland and Saginaw) and were shipped in November and December 2008.

The recalled pistachios were packaged as part of a 2-lb party tray, which also contains cashews, deluxe mixed nuts, chocolate covered peanut clusters and pecan caramel candy. The 2-lb party tray is a round, clear plastic, 6-compartment container with pistachios in one of the compartments. The tray label states Wirth's Nutcracker Sweets and 2 pounds – there is no product name or UPC code on the tray. None of the other products in the tray are affected by the problem.

Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. notified Wirth's that the pistachios are being recalled because they were purchased from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc., who voluntarily recalled them due to possible contamination with salmonella.

Traditions Meal Solutions Recalls Non-Fat Dry Milk Packets possible salmonella contamination

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- July 7, 2009 - Traditions Meal Solutions is recalling approximately 104,500 packets of 25 gram non-fat dry milk packets because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The non-fat dry milk packets are components of Traditions Meal Solutions shelf stable meal kits distributed to food distributors and regional nutrition service providers located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. These meal kits were distributed between January 8, 2008 and June 15, 2009. The meal kits are packaged in small white boxes that have no identifying information and contain single-serve food items. These shelf stable meal kits were not available for individual consumer purchase. The only component of the shelf stable meal kit that represents a potential hazard is the non-fat dried milk. The non-fat dried milk packets are white and are approximately 5” by 4” and labeled with lot numbers from 19047 to 21203.

The packet of non-fat dried milk should not be used or consumed. Consumers who have any of the non-fat dry milk packets are urged to destroy them. Traditions Meal

The recall was initiated when Traditions Meal Solutions was notified by its non-fat dry milk supplier, Blendco, Inc., that the non-fat dried milk packets included in the shelf stable meal kits contained product supplied by Plainview Milk Products Cooperative, which has issued a voluntary recall because the non-fat dried milk has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Traditions Meal Solutions has isolated all recalled non-fat dried milk packets located in its facility and ceased the distribution of any shelf stable meal kits containing the recalled non-fat dried milk.

Giant Food has recalled the following Giant brand Non Fat Dry Milk products.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- July 1, 2009, Landover, MD - Following notification from its manufacturer, Giant Food has recalled the following Giant brand Non Fat Dry Milk products.

Giant Nonfat Dried Milk, 9.6 ounce size
UPC – 6-8826707833
Code – FEB 0511S

The items were removed from store shelves because they were produced with nonfat dried milk that is part of a national recall by Plainview Milk and may have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella bacteria.

CPI Foods, Inc Recalls Non Fat Dry Milk Because of Possible Health Risk

This recall was initiated after Plainview Milk Products Association announced a voluntary recall of it's Instant Non Fat Dry Milk because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Consumers who have any meal kits or Non Fat Dry Milk packets are urged to destroy them.

North Coast Seafood is recalling Fresh Tuna Steaks sold in Retail Store in New England

June 30, 2009 - North Coast Seafood has voluntarily removed from sale Fresh Tuna Steaks that were sold at Shaw’s, Star Market and Big Y Stores in New England
